NURSERY CARE POSITIONS-3 Full time positions available
Shifts: Four 10 hour days - 8:00am to 7:00pm. Schedules may consist of one or both weekend days and holidays.
Job summary: Under the Direction of the Nursery Supervisor, the Nursery staff assists in the daily tasks including husbandry, treatments, cleaning, feeding, and enrichment of the orphaned animals rehabilitated in the Nursery at the Wildlife Care Center. To ensure that the patients receive the optimum daily supportive care. All nursery employees are equally responsible for all areas of the nursery including but not limited to daily house keeping and animal behavior documentation.
ANIMAL CARE POSITIONS-2 Full time positions available
Shifts: Five 8 hour days. You may be required to work one or both weekend days and holidays.
Job summary: Under the direction of the Director, Animal Care, Animal Care Staff are responsible, among other things, in delivery of care and proper dietary requirements for all animals at the facility; for cleaning and disinfecting cages, carriers, habitats; monitoring animals and reporting unusual conditions or behaviors to supervisor and vet staff; for cleaning and storing dishes used in habitats; for the cleanliness of the kitchen; for daily recordings of eating, behavior, physical abilities, conditions on the animal’s behavior sheet and other duties as assigned.
Start Date: Immediately, provided a cleared background check
Starting rate of pay: $8.00 an hour. Pay varies upon education and experience. Benefits will be discussed in interview.

- Familiar with the operations of the Center or willing to become so.
- Passes a background check.
- Has his/her own transportation.

- Maintain confidentiality of personnel or other sensitive matters and to exercise discretion in dealing with controversial or potentially sensitive subject.

- Understand that our patients are not domestic animals and must be treated as wildlife.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:
- Work is normally performed in the nursery or for Animal Care mainly outdoors, so must be able to work in hot summer conditions Physical efforts will vary according to species of patient-weight and size.
- Exposure to physical risk dependant on size and/or species of animal.
- There is a high level of stress based on work load and volume of animals to tend to. Flexibility is required including weekends and holidays.
- Individual must be able to work in an environment where there are strong animal odors and animal allergens are present.
